Through their study of politics and international relations, we hope that our students will gain an understanding of the importance of respecting and exchanging different values, as well as the difficulty of consolidating/reconciling them. Such understandings and experiences will help students define how they live in today's complicated world.

  • The impact of EU-UN relations on member states and the world
  • The conditions and factors for promoting and stagnating EU integration
  • Comparative study of cross-border movement of qualified persons (doctors, nurses, etc.) between Japan and the EU
  • Competitiveness, growth and employment in the EU in an era of declining birthrates and aging population (using the ICT sector as a case study)
  • Changes in the contemporary international political and economic situation (multipolar world) and the EU's response

About the seminar

In Europe, there is an organization called the European Union, which is made up of 27 member states and has a great influence on both domestic politics and international politics. In this seminar, we will study the efforts towards solidarity among the member states within the European Union, European integration and the diversity that remains in each member state, and the EU’s relationship with the international community and Japan.
